Lake Nona has only been around since 2009 but in that time the Lions' athletic program has been on the rise.  Senior quarterback Tucker Israel is the latest headliner with his record-breaking season.

Israel’s latest milestone pits him as the all-time career leader in touchdown passes when he tossed two last Friday against Gateway.  He is one of the most prolific passers the state of Florida has ever seen. His numbers are eye-popping. 11,180 passing yards. 770 career completions. 127 touchdown passes. The Clemson commit owns the state record for all three and those numbers will continue to rise before his high school career is over.

“I hope I continue to stay on top. I know there’s gonna be some great football players in the state of Florida these next decades and years to come but hopefully I continue to stay on top these next couple of years,” Israel said.

“It’s a great accomplishment for my community, my family and myself, but I try not to look at it too much. It’s great to be up there with some of the best football players in the state of Florida.”

Through five games this season, Israel has thrown for more than 1,500 yards, 21 scores and just four interceptions.
