Bishop Moore girls volleyball coach Tanya Jarvis has built the Hornets into a state power.

As the postseason begins this week, Jarvis is leading Bishop Moore on a quest for its third consecutive state title. The Hornets won the 4A championship in 2012 and claimed the 5A crown last year.

Jarvis, a two-time state champ as a player at Bishop Moore in 1999 and 2000, is now in her seventh season on the Hornets bench and has compiled an impressive 179-32 record during her tenure. That gives her a higher winning percentage than former Berkeley Prep coach Randy Dagostino, who is in the FHSAA Hall of Fame.

In a one-on-one interview with BHSN, Jarvis discusses the potential for this year's team, her time as a player and what inspired her to return to her alma mater.
