The 8th Oak Ridge Pioneers defeated the East River Falcons 32-28 to clinch a district championship for the first time since 1977.

Senior wide receiver Nyquan Murray caught 10 passes for 271 yards, and two scores, including the go-ahead touchdown on a 58-yard bomb from D'Andre Weaver with about five minutes to play. The sophomore quarterback paced the Pioneers (7-1) with three touchdown passes in all.

Weaver's counterpart Tanner Hearn also tossed three touchdown passes as the Falcons (3-5) led 22-10 at the half.
