South Lake keeps a perfect record intact after defeating Leesburg(3-5, 0-2) in week eight’s district contest Friday night at home, 24-21.
In a night that highlighted former South Lake(7-0, 2-0) football player and track star Jeff Demps, the team held its own.
At half South Lake led 10-7 as the school honored Demps in retiring his football and track jerseys.
"It's incredible," Demps said. "You know to come back home and have your jersey retired--it's just a feeling that is indescribable."
