Hundreds of people gathered in Lake Mary Saturday morning for a 5K race to benefit the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Registration for the race sold out quickly, within days of being announced.
The race started at 7 a.m. outside City Hall, near the intersection of West Lakeview Avenue and 4th Street.
Participants were able to compete in the race two different ways: physically run the race or complete a virtual race.
Organizers say hundreds of people from all over the country, even as far away as Hawaii, registered to participate.
The race is expected to raise more than $100,000. Proceeds from the 5K will be donated to the victims and families of the Pulse nightclub shooting.
