An NFL quarterback in Kissimmee on vacation was arrested on weapons charges early Friday after deputies say he threatened a woman with a handgun.

  • Victim says she and Jackson had been arguing most of the vacation
  • Jackson denied having a gun, but investigators say they saw one on a counter

Tarvaris Dandre Jackson, 33, an NFL free agent who most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested just after 3 a.m.

Deputies were called to Corvette Lane at the Regal Oaks Resort, in the Celebration area, at about 2:15 a.m., according to an Osceola County Sheriff's Office charging affidavit. The woman and Jackson were visiting from Alabama, staying at a rental property there, along with other friends and family.

The woman told deputies she and Jackson had been arguing for most of the vacation.

She decided to return to their own rental and left Jackson behind. When he later returned home, he was drunk, the affidavit said. The couple continued to fight, during which he took a handgun out of his book bag, loaded it and pointed it at her. She told deputies he was about 10 feet away and feared for her life, and there were children upstairs.

When investigators arrived and questioned him, he denied having a gun, but an investigator saw a black 9mm Ruger handgun on the counter, along with what turned out to be marijuana.

Jackson was booked into the Osceola County Jail on no bond.
