Police arrested three men on June 10 in connection with a shooting at the Glitz Ultra Lounge on Universal Boulevard:

  • Christian Enrique Castro Cotto, 26
  • Luis Gadiel Cruz Nazario, 21
  • Carlos Joshua Perez de Armas, 21

They chose not to announce the arrests until a fourth man was arrested on Wednesday: Jose Angel Hernandez, 30.

All four face second-degree murder charges. Nazario was originally arrested on aggravated assault charges back in February.

Police say a fight broke out at Glitz Ultra Lounge on February 7 that escalated into a shooting. Two people, Joseph Lugo Villalobos, 22, and Jonathan Avila Rojas, 33, died of gunshot wounds. Eight others were shot, including five innocent bystanders.

Police say the nightclub took security measures. People were being checked before they came into the club and there were three off-duty police officers working that night.

A full report on the shooting is expected at the end of July.

Nazario was arrested in February on lesser charges, but is now facing the second-degree murder charge. A fifth person, Jose Jaime Brull Lopez, 23, was arrested back in February on lesser charges.
