A 60-year-old Kissimmee man was killed early Tuesday morning as he was trying to cross a highway, the Florida Highway Patrol stated in a press release.

At about 1:57 a.m., a driver and two other adults were in a 2013 Chevy Malibu traveling west on U.S. 192/West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, west of Seven Dwarfs Lane, the FHP stated.

The pedestrian, who has not be named since his next of kin has not been notified of his death, was trying to cross the highway.

The driver told officials that he saw the man trying to cross the highway and the driver attempted to change from the right lane into the middle lane, stated the FHP.

The right front of the car hit the pedestrian, the FHP reported.

FHP stated that alcohol was not involved in the accident, and the driver and two passengers were not hurt.

This crash remains under investigation.
