An Osceola County man says he found out that a friend was a victim of the Pulse shooting through social media.

In the hours before the shooting at Pulse nightclub, Mykol Marte was using Snapchat to communicate with Amanda Alvear, 25. Speaking with us on Wednesday Marte said she was sending him pictures and texts from her friend's house.
When he checked Snapchat the next day, Marte realized Alvear had gone to Pulse and had recorded the shooting from inside the club.
"After I seen the last snap, my phone almost dropped," said Marte. "So I try to call her, try to text her, try to FaceTime her, no reply."
Marte posted the video on Facebook in hopes that someone would give him good news. Instead, he found out that his was one of the 49 victims.
"She had one of the biggest hearts that I know," said Marte. "She was always caring, and one thing that I loved about her is that she always had an open ear."
