Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for  the rest of the week:

  • Quite a change coming
  • Temperatures to plunge

Scattered showers will taper off after midnight. Although temperatures will be falling about ten degrees from previous night’s lows, clouds will prevent us from going below 60 however, lows for the rest of the week will be dipping into the 50s. Northwest wind will push out the clouds Thursday.  Our wind could gust from 20 to 30 mph at times.

Thursday will be windy with gust from the northwest as much as 30 mph at times. Temperatures will only make it into the upper 70s to low 80s through Saturday with lows dipping into the 50s for a few days too. Friday looks to be less windy with almost full sun. By Mother’s Day, temperatures will begin to rebound with highs getting back into the upper 80s. No rain in the forecast through the weekend.

Still poor conditions for surfers with a strong offshore flow causing wave heights to only be 1 to 2 feet at most. Rip current threat is low for swimmers while the UV index starts to come back up again due to more sunshine. Water temperatures are around 74 degrees at Daytona Beach and 79 degrees at Cocoa Beach. Wind could gust as much as 30 mph at times.
