A Flagler County man says he is counting his blessings after lightning struck his truck during Wednesday morning’s stormy weather.

"It was a big bang and everything was lit up light a Christmas tree," said Farber.

Gary Farber said he literally saw his life flash before his eyes as storms ripped through Flagler County.

"We got in the truck and started to hail down there and everything else I'm like man maybe we shouldn't be going," said Farber.

But he said he was too concerned about his sick father and took the chance to head to Ormond Beach. He said as they were getting on the interstate when they got to state road 100 and 95 south his F150 was struck by lightning.

"The truck just shook and it sounded like the truck actually blew up. The dash lights just started flashing; I look up and see the traffic light flashing. I was like we just got hit by lightning," said Farber.

He says another car with a family including babies also shut down and everyone was shaken up.

The truck was towed to Sam's Auto Repair and Diagnostic shop in Bunnell. The shop manager said the damage isn't visible and the two computers that run the car are fried.

"It could've been catastrophic. The result it burned this computer and that computer over there. Main thing you're on the highway and you're in the middle of making a turn and just everything shut off you don't have any power," said J.J. Jensen.

But with no accident, not even a scratch, and the blessing of dodging Mother Nature, Farber believes he's now luckiest man on earth. Lucky enough to win the lottery.

"I thank god that nothing ever happened it could've been worst. I'll probably play the lottery tonight," said Farber.
