Here's what you need to know for Central Florida's weather for Thursday and the rest of the week:

  • Rain chances increasing
  • Watching the Atlantic
  • Deteriorating marine conditions
  • Don't cancel your weekend plans

We started out with a clear, blue sky and mild temperatures before developing some fair weather cumulus clouds across the peninsula.

These clouds won't squeeze out any rain today. Low pressure well off our east coast could provide us with some holiday weekend showers.

We're monitoring Invest-91 near the Bahamas, figuring out how this will impact your weekend plans. Don't cancel plans, because this system has a date with the Carolinas. A ridge of high pressure building over the Gulf of Mexico and another area of high pressure near Bermuda will keep us rain free today, with highs in the upper 80s.

The trough responsible for spinning up Invest-91 will shift moisture toward us starting tomorrow. As the low moves north-northwest, it will be just close enough to provide us a rain chance over the weekend, but it looks like it'll be far enough away to keep most of us dry. Highs stay in the upper 80s to lower 90s through the middle of next week.

A great day at the beach, but poor for surfers. Waves may push to thigh high, but will generally stay at 1 to 2 feet.

Conditions improve tomorrow thanks to a low north of the Bahamas, and waves climb over shoulder-high Saturday. Our rip threat increases this weekend, too.
