Gelbert Regalado, 25, and Lynderes Castro, 23, were arrested on multiple burglary and grand theft charges, detectives say.

According to authorities, the suspects committed more than 20 burglaries in the Reunion Resort area and are linked to similar crimes in Polk County.

In January, police started to investigate the crimes and determined that the majority of them happened during the day and the entry was made through a glass sliding door or breaking a window.

Regalado and Castro, both Polk County residents, were eventually identified as suspects and on Monday, May 23, detectives conducted an undercover operation and observed the two committing a burglary, authorities say.

They were taken into custody and have been cooperating with detectives, authorities say.

Regalado has been charged with five counts of unoccupied burglary and three counts of grand theft. Castro was charged with four counts of unoccupied burglary and two counts of grand theft. They have been booked at Osceola County Jail.

Authorities say that additional charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
