A Forever Home Animal Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit rescue and boarding facility that opened three years ago on Bloomfield Road in Yalaha.

The rescue takes in small dogs from shelters or from owners who can no longer take care of their pets.

"This is such a passion that we have and the thought of losing this passion and losing this type of work is heartbreaking,” said kennel manager Sandy Terry.

Terry says they recently found out their property was in foreclosure.

Dale Barnhart bought the land, and while they’re renting from him now, the rescue will need to move.

Barnhart says while it's important to him that the dogs have a home, he doesn't think the rescue can afford to stay there forever.

"I think they can stay there until they can find something that’s more permanent,” he said.

The rescue is hoping they find an acre of land that they can rent to own.

In the meantime, the rescue isn't taking any more dogs. There are still 17 that need be adopted - if you’d like to help, head to the rescue's website.
