As flames flickered at a memorial for Latrice Randolph, dozens of her family and friends gathered outside for an emotional prayer vigil Thursday night, to let her know just how much they miss her.

  • Latrice Randolph was found dead in her Sanford apartment Tuesday
  • Jimmie Elliot has been charged with her murder
  • Investigators say Randolph knew Elliot

“She went to church that Sunday,” exclaimed her mother, Octavia Bryant. “And how is [it that] you think you’re gonna take that child’s life on the day that she go to church?"

“She will not die. Her face will not go away. Her voice will not go away," Bryant shared.

Investigators arrested two men, Jimmie and Jeremiah Elliot in connection with Randolph’s gruesome murder.

She was found stabbed to death in her own apartment on Tuesday at the Hatteras Sound Apartments in Sanford.

Investigators said they found the two men living inside the victim’s apartment.

Randolph’s mother has a message about the heartless, cold act.

“We got something to say. You ain’t going to kill this child here and just get away with it because I have something to say. God was in that child," Bryant said.

Investigators said Randolph knew Jimmie Elliot, who is now charged with premeditated murder.

His brother Jeremiah is facing charges for obstructing justice.

Investigators are trying to figure out whether there was an argument over whether Jimmie Elliot could move in with the victim, which may have factored into the murder.

Randolph’s mother said she’ll never stop fighting for justice.

“Baby, I will stand up for you until the day I die, that those fools with not get out and come free," Bryant said before breaking down in tears.

Both men are being held without bond at the Seminole County Jail. They're due back in court June 21.
