Charges against the man accused of attacking two construction workers with hammers were upgraded to second-degree murder.

Arenthius Jenkins, 30, was arrested last week after Daytona Beach police said hit the two workers.

On Wednesday, police reported one of the victims, 60-year-old Bill Ford died from his wounds. Ford was on life-support and placed in a medically-induced coma following the attack.

The second victim, Terry Gross, at last check, was recovering in the hospital in stable condition.

Jenkins was previously being held at the Volusia County branch jail on a $300,000 bond.

He is expected to go before a judge to hear the new charges.
