A man died after he crashed his vehicle into an Orlando-area retention pond overnight, police said.
Orlando Police officers responded at about 2 a.m. to the 8200 block of Lee Vista Boulevard in reference to a possible vehicle in the water.
A witness said a vehicle left the roadway and went into the pond. The witness told police they didn't see anyone surface.
The Orlando Fire Department responded to the scene and found a submerged vehicle. An adult male was found following a search of the pond. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
