A former Marion County Sheriff’s deputy has been found not guilty in the 2014 beating of an unarmed black man.

Jesse Terrell is one of five former deputies prosecuted by the federal government in the beating of Derrick Price during an arrest two years ago.

The jury took less than two hours to acquit Terrell.  He was facing up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The other deputies testified against Terrell and pleaded guilty. They are currently awaiting sentencing.
