A Brevard County teenager accused of killing his toddler sister last month is being charged as an adult.

Noah Walls, 15, of Cocoa was arrested last month. According to a Brevard court affidavit, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Tilkwade Lane home just after midnight Jan. 10, 2016, after a 911 caller asked for medical assistance. There, they found an unresponsive 21-month-old girl. She was taken to Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy later that morning determined that the child died of blunt force trauma to the head and ruled her death a homicide, the affidavit said. Based on that ruling and interviews with the occupants of the home, deputies say Walls hit his sister and killed her, but they're not saying why.

Walls now faces a second-degree murder charge, which the state attorney said is serious enough to charge Walls as an adult.
