New York State Crime Stoppers and the U.S. Marshals service are asking for the public’s help in finding a convicted sex offender who they say could be in Florida.
Jeffrey Ryan was convicted of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy in 1995, authorities said. After serving his sentence, Ryan was required to register as a Level 2 sex offender in the state of New York.
On Feb. 12, 2013, Ryan was arrested, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. He was released on bail, but according to the press release he failed to appear in court on Nov. 23, 2013 and hasn’t been seen since.
Authorities say Ryan has ties to Atlantic County, N.J., Wilmington, Del. and Kissimmee, Fla. They believe he could be in any of these locations.
Anyone with information about Ryan is asked to call the New York State Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313-TIPS (8477).
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information that leads to his capture.
