A suspect who was shot during a shootout with Marion County deputies Wednesday night has died.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said Cristiaan Oliver Dubrino, 31, died Wednesday night at a hospital.

Marion County Patrol Sgt. Daniel Trammell suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during the incident. Deputies said he was treated at a hospital and released.

Deputies were called to the Marathon gas station on SE 58th Avenue about a man with multiple handguns in the parking lot.

When deputies arrived, they went to talk to Dubrino, who was getting in and out of a vehicle with two handguns, according to a news release.

Deputies said the man raised one of the handguns to his head, but while deputies were trying to talk him down, he began firing a second gun at the deputies.

The deputies returned fire.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is taking over the investigation, which is standard procedure in deputy-involved shootings.
