An Orlando man was killed Wednesday morning after troopers say he lost control of his car, hit a guard rail and was then struck head on by a semi-truck.

It happened around 5 a.m. on the Beachline in Brevard County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 49-year-old Raymond Deas was traveling eastbound and for an unknown reason lost control of his vehicle, veered right and struck the guardrail.

The vehicle then came to rest in the eastbound lanes facing westbound and was struck head on by a semi-truck driven by Felix Candelaria Bello, 27, of Kissimmee. Deas’ vehicle then hit another vehicle driven by Victor Gonzalez Rodriguez, 41, of Orlando.

Troopers said Deas was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Both Bello and Rodriguez were transported to Wuesthoff Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
