Volusia County deputies believe two people died in a murder-suicide Wednesday night in DeLeon Springs.

The victims have been identified as Foye Stacey and Jenella Stacey. Both were 83 years old, deputies said.

The autopsies are being conducted Thursday by the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office.

The sheriff's office is releasing few details.

Deputies said they were called around 6 p.m. to a home on Winona Trail in DeLeon Springs for a well-being check on the couple.

Deputies said the couple's son had gotten an email from his father saying he had shot his wife. Deputies said the email also indicated the man was going to kill himself. It was believed one or both of them were ill.

Deputies tried to make contact with the couple for an hour before entering the home to find them dead.

No other information has been released.
