A car crashed into the Interfaith Emergency Services warehouse in Ocala early Friday morning, burst into flames and started the building on fire.

Ocala Fire Rescue was called to the warehouse, located between NW 7th Street and NW 5th Avenue, around 3:45 a.m.

When firefighters arrived they found flames coming from the car and the warehouse building.

It took 17 firefighters from four engine companies about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

No one was injured but the warehouse building was destroyed.

Fire crews were able to put out the flames before they reached the adjacent thrift store, saving thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise, including a considerable donation of brand new items made recently by a large retailer, were lost.
