An inmate who escaped from a Florida Department of Corrections rehab facility last month was apprehended Sunday in Marion County.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said Alvin J. Richardson, 20, walked away from the Bridges of Sante Fe rehabilitation facility, in Alachua County, on July 1.

Richardson was arrested in December 2013 on a robbery charge in Marion County and was sentenced to serve 15 months at the Bridges of Sante Fe.

Marion County deputy Wady Sedan received information Sunday that Richardson was walking near Baseline Road in Marion County.

The Sheriff's Office said Sedan gathered the intelligence needed and arranged for a team to search for and arrest Richardson.

Deputies and a K-9 unit located Richardson on Sunday afternoon near the 400 block of Banyan Road, just east of Baseline Road. Richardson was taken into custody without incident.

He is being held at the Marion County Jail on a felony escape charge with no bond.
