Two people were killed Tuesday evening in a crash involving two cars near Leesburg.
It happened just after 6 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Highland Lakes Boulevard.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a car driven by a 77-year-old David Gossard of The Villages turned out in front of another vehicle.
He and one of the passengers in the car, 72-year-old Charles Eversole of Leesburg, were both pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger in the car, 70-year-old Michael Galco of Leesburg, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the other car, 22-year-old Frederick Barby of Port St, Joe, Florida, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Waterman Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
