The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man found dead in a small body of water Friday evening near Interstate 4 in Deltona.
Donald Cornelius Smith, 43, of Sanford was found in the water behind the Publix at Saxon Crossings, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A small group of fishermen discovered the man’s body and alerted deputies who arrived in the area near 2100 Saxon around 5:15 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
