Police arrested two teen suspects who are believed to have snatched a woman’s purse at a 7-11 gas pump in Melbourne Friday afternoon.

The victim had stopped at the gas pumps on N. Wickman Road to fuel her vehicle when one of the suspects approached her.

A store surveillance video shows a 16-year-old suspect pushing past the woman, while entering the driver’s side of her vehicle to remove her purse, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect fled with another 19-year-old male, Corwyn Mitchell in a gold colored Toyota Four Runner. The Sheriff’s Office said it wasn’t the only vehicle the suspects attempted to rob. Prior to approaching the victim, the suspects attempted to enter two other vehicles in the parking lot.

When the Rockledge Police Department attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed. The driver then crashed the car on Avondale Road in Rockledge a short time later.

One of the suspects is not being identified per News 13 crime guidelines. Mitchell is currently being held without bond.

Police are asking persons who have been victims of this crime to contact the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
