A suspect has been arrested in the murder of a Poinciana man who was found dead following a car crash Friday night.

Just before 8 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to Cypress Parkway and Country Club Drive in Poinciana after a car crashed into a tree.

When they arrived they found 32-year-old Andres Alibizu-Conde critically injured in the car with wounds that didn’t come from the crash.

He was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later.

Investigators obtained information that the incident was drug related and identified Carlos Serrano-Rivera, 32, as a possible suspect.

On Sunday, deputies said they located Rivera and saw him toss drug paraphernalia in nearby bushes. Rivera was taken into custody and questioned by investigators.

The Sheriff’s Office said at first Rivera did not cooperate with the investigation but later admitted to detectives he was with the victim at the time of the incident.

Based on the information, Rivera was arrested and charged with first degree murder, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession/use of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
