A Deltona woman woke up early Saturday morning to find an intruder with a flashlight running out of her bedroom.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said around 2:41 a.m. deputies were called to a home on Algoma Street.

The woman told deputies she thought she had been dreaming about someone being in her bedroom, but she later realized it was real after discovering two wallets, a purse, a smart phone and a Galaxy tablet missing from the house.

The Sheriff's Office said a K-9 team found one of the stolen wallets and a crow bar in the woods behind the victim's house.

Investigators were able to track down the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Sean Whalen, and the rest of the victim's stolen property.

Deputies say Whalen confessed to another residential burglary and several vehicle burglaries in the area. Deputies recovered GPS units, silver, a laptop computer, stolen cellphones and miscellaneous jewelry from Whalen's home.

Whalen was charged with grand theft, burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of a schedule IV substance. He is facing additional charges in other burglary cases, deputies said.
