A crash on I-4 sent two Orlando Police cruisers down the interstate, while they were conducting a roadside investigation Friday morning.

The officers were investigating a possible hit and run when another car crashed into one of the cruisers causing it to crash into the other patrol car.

The initial patrol car that was hit went spinning out and came to rest in the middle lanes of travel on I-4 west, underneath the 408 ramp bridge, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Police said the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Due to the vehicle and large amount of debris causing hazard to other vehicles traveling on I-4 west all traffic was temporarily diverted at Anderson Street.

Police said no one was injured
