A 58-year-old Orlando man was killed Wednesday night after he was struck by an SUV along Lake Underhill Road in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened a little after 10:30 p.m.

A couple waited for a tow truck, while their car was disabled on Lake Underhill Road and Deerwood Avenue.

The wife, Ling Heung, said she was driving their car, a Nissan Murano, with her husband in the passenger seat when her vehicle stopped working.

While they waited on the left hand turn lane, a driver of a Chevrolet Malibu pulled up behind them to help. Her husband, who was later identified as Bruce Keiper, walked out of the car to talk to the driver.

A red Nissan Pathfinder was traveling in an unknown direction on Lake Underhill Road around the same time.

What exactly occurred next remains under investigation, troopers said.

Kuiper and the driver of the Murano were standing behind the vehicle, a report states. At some point, an unknown area of the red Pathfinder struck the front of the Murano, which was pushed into Kuiper and the Chevrolet Malibu.

She said she heard a loud thump and when she got out of the car her husband was laying on the ground bleeding.

She said she saw a Red Nissan Pathfinder make a U-turn and drive off in the opposite direction.

The Florida Highway Patrol is now looking for that Pathfinder, which could have damage on its left rear side.

Heung said Kuiper was a loving man and she wants justice.

“You still have to come forward and face justice and repent and ask for God’s help and that is why I want this person to come forth because he is the love of my life,” she said

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending. Anyone with information on the hit-and-run crash is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
