A boy is dead after the utility vehicle he was riding in flipped over.
Juan Carlos Melendez, 11, was riding in a utility vehicle that had seatbelts in a wooded area near Rose Marie Place and Blounts Ridge Road in north Brevard County. For an unknown reason, the vehicle lost control and overturned.
Melendez was taken to Parrish Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
