A judge has recommended the Osceola County School District fire two teacher assistants who are accused of standing by as students brutally fought each other.

Last January we reported Kristie Lee Gilmore and Mona Sagar were arrested and put on administrative leave when the two women were caught on camera standing aside as their classroom erupted with a fistfight involving students.

Since the incident occurred the teachers were taken out of the classroom. They continued to work for the school district, however, while the district awaited the judge’s recommendation.

After hearing the case and seeing the evidence, the judge recommended Gilmore and Sagar be terminated from their positions.

There is a waiting period to see if the teachers appeal decision. In the meantime the school district is preparing to take the teachers' names to the school board for termination.
