Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for Monday and the rest of the week:

  • Overnight lows in mid-60s inland, low 70s at the coast
  • Low pressure has 30% chance of subtropical development after passing offshore
  • Low will stay off Florida coast, but will bring showers and storms

Partly cloudy skies will prevail into the overnight, with lows in the mid-60s. With the wind continuing off the water, those at the coast will be milder overnight in the low 70s. We can also expect a few coastal showers weakening as they move west.

Tuesday, our attention will shift to the southeast, where an area of low pressure is expected to form over the Bahamas. The low will remain off the coast to our east, but rain chances will still be higher through midweek as it slowly moves north.

There is some indication that this low may become subtropical off the Carolina coastline late in the week. The low has a 30 percent chance for development in the next five days. If this happens, our main concern would be rough ocean conditions with higher wave heights and breezy conditions.

If the low does develop into a subtropical storm, it would take on the name Ana, the first on 2015's list of storm names.

We would be on the back side of the low, and drier air would pour in behind it for Thursday and Friday. Highs throughout the week will stay close to the seasonal average in the mid-80s.
