A South Daytona police officer accused of punching a handcuffed suspect while he was in the back of a patrol cruiser was fired Tuesday, officials said.
In-car video provided by the South Daytona Police Department shows Detective Zach Pickett striking a suspect while he was in the back of the patrol car in January.
Pickett was fired after the internal investigation was completed. He was charged with misdemeanor battery.
Pickett was with the South Daytona Police Department for 10 years.
