The Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign begins Monday across Florida.

The two-week campaign begins Monday, May 18, and lasts until Monday, June 1.

Law enforcement agencies in Osceola County will be out in full force.

Kissimmee police have set up warning signs about the campaign. The sheriff's office said it will have zero tolerance when it comes to motorists and passengers not wearing their seat belts.

Kissimmee police officials have been making visits to area elementary schools over the last few weeks to educate students on the importance of wearing a seat belt.

Driving without your seat belt could cost you $116. If your child isn't in the proper car seat, the driver faces a $166 fine.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows that the use of seat belts in passenger vehicles saved an estimated 12,174 lives in 2012. Seat belts have saved about 63,000 lives during the five-year period from 2008 to 2012.

"The simple act of fastening your seat belt can save you more than the price of a citation — it can save your life," Osceola County Sheriff Bob Hansell said in a statement. "Please buckle up."
