This week law enforcement agencies throughout the country honored officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

In St. Cloud officers came together to remind everyone how dangerous their jobs can be.

"We live to protect the flock and to confront the wolf," said Pete Gauntlett, Chief of St. Cloud Police Department.

With standing room only, law enforcement officers throughout Osceola County stood shoulder to shoulder, remembering the lives of fellow officers lost in the line of duty.

"We need to remember those who protected us,” said Helen Haddock, a law enforcement widow.

Haddock's husband, Lieutenant James Roger, who founded the sheriff's office mounted patrol unit, lost his life in March of 2000 in a horse accident.

"We need to remember those who continue to protect us," Haddock said.

Haddock, wasn't the only one memorialized. Several officers who lost their lives were also named as a humbling reminder that they put their lives on the line every day.

"These are dangerous times that we live in and so we are here to celebrate and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice," Chief Gauntlett said.
