Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the rest of the week:

  • Temperatures remain in the low-90s this week
  • Increased humidity and the risk for afternoon storms
  • Storm activity will be widely scattered across Central Florida

The Bermuda high will be our biggest influence this week, helping to keep us hot with afternoon storms possible each day.  A cold front will try to slide our way from the North, but it will not quite make it here, falling apart as it moves into the north part of the state late Wednesday.  Sea breezes will be the cause for showers and storms each day especially as the west sea breeze collides with the east sea breeze.  The point at which they come together will vary day to day, so our chance for rain will vary too, between 20 and 30 percent.

Overnight, any showers will diminish under a partly cloudy sky.  Lows will only fall to near 70, several degrees above our normal low of 65.  Wednesday will get hot again with a high climbing back into the low 90s.  Normal high for this time of year is near 88.  You can track the latest thunderstorm development with Storm Tracker 13 online, and on the News13+ app.

High temperatures are expected to back off into the upper 80s later in the week with our chance for rain coming down early next week.
