One of Clermont’s biggest events of the year is this weekend.
The Second Annual Dragon Boat Festival will be taking place on Lake Minneola in Clermont at Waterfront Park.
Dragon boat races feature between 20 and 24 paddlers, with a drum and coach helping steer the boat.
There’s no shortage of competitors for this year’s event which kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Organizers are making a last minute plea for volunteer who are needed anytime between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Please call Debbie Milwee at 407-436-5649 or email at giving@nbcfl.org if you are available.
All proceeds go to benefit New Beginnings, a local charity helping struggling families.
