A woman was killed in Brevard County after being hit by a car Thursday along State Road A1A in Cape Canaveral.
It happened around 9 a.m. on A1A near Polk Avenue, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.
Lanes were blocked in that area for hours before reopening after 2 p.m., according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the victim was a 59-year-old woman, but did not immediately release her identity.
