Police in New Smyrna Beach are looking for a man who reportedly try to lure students with candy, then let his dog chase after them.
The incident happened Tuesday morning as the children were walking to Chisholm elementary School on Ronnoc Lane.
The children said the man tried to offer them candy as they passed Pettis Park. But when the children turned down the offer, he let his dog loose to chase them.
Principal Kelly Lewis sent a recorded message to parents about the issue, reminding children to walk in groups and never talk to strangers.
