A man wanted for aggravated assault was taken into custody Saturday after a two-hour standoff in Osceola County.

Kissimmee police were at the scene where the man barricaded himself inside a home in the area of Mill Slough Road and Town & Country Drive.

Roads in the area were closed as police tried to negotiate with the man.

The incident began earlier in the day when police were notified the man allegedly assaulted someone. Police tracked the man down at the house and asked everyone inside to exit the house, but the suspect didn't comply.

After about two hours, police were able to make contact with the man. He was taken into custody without incident shortly after 8 p.m., said Stacie Miller, public information officer for the Kissimmee Police Department.

There were reports the man had a firearm, but police said it's unclear if he was actually had a weapon.

The Kissimmee Police Department's SWAT team and its crisis negotiation team responded to the area.
