The deadly crash in December that killed four people, including two children, in Kissimmee was a murder-suicide, police said Wednesday.

A 5-day-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and their parents were killed Dec. 23, 2014, after the father, 24-year-old Ulysses Montero, intentionally drove the family's car into a retention pond behind Valencia College's Osceola County campus.

Also killed in the crash were Julie Lopez-Elias, 24; Julissa M. Montero, 4; and Delias D. Montero, 5 days old, all of Kissimmee.

"The medical examiner determined there was no evidence to indicate Ulysses suffered a medical episode prior to the crash," said Stacie Miller, public information officer for the Kissimmee Police Department.

The investigation revealed Montero had control of the vehicle prior to entering the pond and that his actions were deliberate, not accidental.

A certified mechanic also determined the car had no mechanical issues.
