A single-engine plane crashed as it attempted to land Sunday in Lake County, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Around 1 p.m., Clermont police and fire crews, as well as the Lake County Sheriff's Office, responded to 1792 Nature Cove Lane, in the Lost Lakes Reserves subdivision.

David Harmon, the owner of the single-engine plane, told authorities he was attempting to land on his property located behind Nature Cove Lane when a tailwind caused the plane to continue forward through a wired fence and then through a wooden fence and into the backyard of a home.

The plane then crashed into a tree. Harmon reported no injuries.

There was minor damage to the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration requested the plane remains where it is until investigators arrive to the scene Monday.
