An investigation is underway after a man was found shot three times early Thursday morning in Marion County.
Ocala police responded around 12:55 a.m. to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Pine Avenue and Broadway Street.
While officers were investigating the crash, the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Dwayne Peel, told paramedics he was shot. Emergency personnel discovered three gunshot wounds.
Investigators said the shooting happened along the 1900 block of N.W. 1st Avenue.
Peel said he was attempting to drive himself to the hospital when he crashed.
Peel suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
