A strong low is just off to our north and pushing eastward. It is going to drive a cold front right across Central Florida today. A line of showers and storms will result, but the intensity should diminish by the time it arrives to the Interstate 4 corridor. The line pushes from northwest to southeast across Central Florida.

The main hazards will be heavy rain and possibly gusty winds within any storms. The line is expected in our northern counties around 3 a.m., the metro around 5am, and into our southern counties around 7 a.m. A few showers behind that line will taper off through noon. Our highs will be around 70 but temps drop steadily by the afternoon. Winds will turn west then northwest by the afternoon bringing in the cooler temps.

The front stalls to our south for the end of the week and into the weekend. Temperatures will be slightly cooler again as high pressure builds in. The high will shift into the Atlantic over the weekend, creating a prolonged period of onshore flow. That will give rise to additional isolated showers Friday through Sunday along with hazardous boating conditions.
