The CFE arena at the University of Central Florida was evacuated Tuesday night after a possible gas leak.

Around 9 p.m. the UCF Police Department sent out a message via Twitter :

CFE Arena Area Evacuated Due to Gas Odor

The Arena had just cleared out after the UCF women’s basketball team defeated Houston.

Orange County Fire Rescue responded to the campus and shut down the arena and area businesses. It did not affect any residence halls on campus.

Investigators determined the gas odor was coming from Knightro’s, a campus dining facility.  Police haven’t specifically said where within the facility the leak was coming from but investigators shut off gas lines.

Police conducted tests to determine the source of the leak. They did not get any reports of anyone becoming ill from the gas leak, though one person complained of being light-headed.

Businesses, and the main All-Knight Study branch, reopened Wedneday morning.
