Tropical Storm Kate is strengthening as it moves away from the Bahamas, where a Tropical Storm Warning was discontinued Monday evening.
Kate has turned north and is about to get picked up by the front draped across northern Florida. A turn toward the northeast is expected by very early Tuesday morning, and Kate is no threat to the Florida coast.
Florida may get a brief window of swells along the East Coast overnight, but nothing too dramatic. Kate should dissipate by Thursday in the northern Atlantic.
