As Thanksgiving winds down, the holiday cheer shifts to Christmas, and that means lots of decorations and lights.
Local homeowner Todd O'Neal said it takes him an entire year to plan and put together his spectacular display in the Lake Nona area.
His holiday light show is located at 9800 Old Patina Way in Orlando. It started small just four years ago, but now there are 20,000 to 25,000 lights synchronized to music you can hear on your car radio.
O'Neal and his co-worker Randy Tennison help make the light show come to life.
“You have to figure out what songs you are going to do, what songs that will look good on this," O'Neal said. "You know, planning on what to get because there are different controllers."
The controllers, extension cords and computer programs aren’t cheap. There are about 100 extension cords that are used in the display.
Surprisingly, what doesn't cost a lot of money is the electric bill.
“Most people put on lights and turn them on and leave them on all night," Tennison said. "Our lights are off a lot of the time because they are flashing so actually our first year our electric bill went down."
However, cost is not an issue for the two men. They just want to help spread holiday cheer.
“We come, gosh, like four times a year when it is out," said Katie Peters, who lives in the neighborhood. "We think it’s a lot of fun."
The lights are on display Sunday - Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. They also run Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
